The Penn Adult Developmental Disorders program was founded in 1999 with a commitment to excellence in both clinical service and research in the areas of Adult Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Social Learning Disorders (SLD), which includes Asperger Syndrome (AS) and high functioning autism (HFA).
The goal of the program is to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive diagnostic assessment and evidence-based clinical care, including medication management, psychotherapy (cognitive-behavior therapy, in particular), and our weekly social skills seminars.
In addition, the program staff members are committed to conducting and disseminating research and providing education to other mental health professionals and to the general public about adult developmental disorders. The treatment team consists psychiatrists, psychologists, researchers, and clinical coordinators.
